Your download is starting now

If nothing happened, start it yourself with the button below. Earkeep is free to try for 14 days with full functionality – no email, no account, no card.

macOS 13 or later, Apple Silicon or Intel. €39 once when you decide to keep it.

On an Intel Mac? Download the Intel build.

What happens next

  1. Open the app. Drag Earkeep to your Applications folder and double-click it. Earkeep is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so macOS asks once whether you meant to open something you downloaded, and that is all.
  2. Pick a transcription model. Whisper or Parakeet, downloaded once and then run entirely on your device. See languages and models for what each one covers.
  3. Grant microphone and system audio permissions. Both, because a meeting is you talking and the call playing back.

That is the whole setup. Earkeep then listens in the background, and you mark which stretch of the day was a meeting once it is over. Audio is processed only in memory and never written to disk.

Frequently asked questions

Is Earkeep notarized and safe to open on macOS?

Yes. Earkeep is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it opens with a normal double-click and no unidentified-developer warning. Updates are protected separately: each one carries its own cryptographic signature, which Earkeep verifies before replacing anything.

What macOS version do I need?

macOS 13 or later. The button gives you the Apple Silicon build unless your browser tells us you are on Intel – Safari and Firefox cannot say, so if you are on an Intel Mac, use the Intel link under the button. On Apple Silicon, transcription is hardware-accelerated. The Intel build transcribes on the CPU, so it is noticeably slower, and it needs macOS 13.4 or later.

How big is the model download?

It depends on which model you pick. Earkeep offers a choice of Whisper and Parakeet models on first launch, and larger models (more accurate, more languages) take up more space than smaller ones. See languages and models for the options.

Does Earkeep work offline?

Yes. Transcription runs entirely on your device using local Whisper or Parakeet models, with no network calls required for core functionality. License validation uses an offline grace period instead of checking in on every launch.

Do I need an account?

No. There's no account and no cloud sign-in, during the trial or after you buy. Just download, and later activate with the license key from your email. Earkeep does register the device once on first launch so your trial can be counted, but that sends a one-way hash of a hardware id and nothing about you — see the privacy policy.
