FAQ for executives
Our counsel advises against AI notetakers in board meetings. Does local capture change that?
Partly. Earkeep removes the third party: no vendor receives a recording, nothing is uploaded, nothing joins the room, and audio is never written to disk.
It does not make a transcript un-discoverable. A file on your own disk is still a record. If your policy is that no verbatim record of an executive session should exist, quit Earkeep or keep the span unmarked rather than assuming local means exempt, and decide that with your own counsel.
Do I have to mark thirty-seven meetings a week myself?
No. Connect Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook or any ICS URL and each event titles its own span. Hand-marking is for what was never scheduled.
Can an agent draft the board narrative from the quarter's meetings?
Yes. Ask an in-app agent what the quarter's operating reviews committed to and what happened to it. You review a draft that cites your own transcripts.
Does anyone at the company have access to what I keep?
No. Transcripts are plain files on your own disk, with no account, cloud sync or Earkeep server, so there is nothing to grant anyone access to.
Does my executive assistant need a licence too?
Only if they want their own capture. A licence activates one device at a time, and nothing is shared between the two, since there is no server to share it through.
What happens when I'm asked what we agreed three years ago?
